I just got back from going to a bookstore after a month and even though I didn't really buy a ridiculous amount of books like I'm used to, I'm pretty excited about the ones I brought home with me.

The chosen ones were Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, the second installment in the Shatter Me series, and Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi, the second installment in the Under the Never Sky series. 

I was ridiculously excited about getting my hands on Through the Ever Night, but I forgot it came out. I read the first one right as it was published and I loved it, and then I totally forgot about the release of the second one. Until I was at the bookstore today and almost had a heart attack - not really, but there was a lot of facepalming involved - when I saw it on display.

So yep, this is my musing today, and also how I'll probably be spending the next couple of nights in my room. Catching up on amazing series with their even more amazing sequels!

I kind of just discovered the wonders that are M M Romance books while browsing Goodreads, and I have to say that some of those titles have the best plots ever. They're all so original and intriguing that I feel like I've discovered a new world filled with all of my favorite things: alpha males, action packed plots, witty and sarcastic and strong-minded characters that take no shit from anyone, and all the  romance!

The books I bought this week have all of that, and they're actually all part of a series as opposed to stand-alone stories.

This series revolves around the lives of Special Agent Ty Grady and Special Agent Zane Garrett of the FBI, the messes they make, the trouble that seems to keep following them everywhere they go, their incapability to do their jobs without someone trying to kill them, and the growing hate/love relationship between them as they save each other's lives and get to know each other better.

So this is my haul for the past week. I'm reading Stars & Stripes as I write this, and my lobe for Ty and Zane just keeps growing more and more with each passing book. :D

I've been a Nicole Williams fan since her Eden Trilogy days, so whenever she has a new book coming out I make sure to check it out and see if it interests me.

Lost & Found was released about a week ago, and it's been keeping me busy this past few nights.

The story is not something we haven't seen before - bad-girl gets shipped off to a ranch in the middle of nowhere by her mother and meets and falls in love with the owner's son -, but it's still an entertaining one.

I've been having fun reading it, at least. Rowen and Jesses' bickering makes up for a pretty interesting ride, especially with the way Rowen tries her best to keep everyone away only to have Jesse not even bat an eyelash to her weird sense of humor.

What I'm not enjoying is almost the same thing. Rowen's need to keep people at a distance. Even though I haven't finished the book yet, I know that's gonna cause some trouble and heartache. Which are good things in a story, but still.

I'm looking forward to see where the story goes and how it ends, and so far Nicole Williams has done a wonderful job in keeping me hooked to the story and its characters.

For some ungodly reason, I can't read in complete silence.

The TV needs to be on, or music needs to be playing, or people need to be talking.

I don't know how much of that comes from having ADD, that I find it easier to concentrate on reading when I have other stuff available to distract me whenever I want. I'm a master at zoning everything out and focusing just on the story, as long as I have options to take me away from reading if I want to. Am I making sense?

If reading is the only thing I have to distract myself or to do, then I won't be able to concentrate long enough to read something. Now, if I have other distractions, whenever I take the time to sit down and read it's like I'm making the choice to ignore everything else and focus only on the book I'm carrying. 

After that, everything is rainbows and butterflies and puppies because I completely forget about anything else but the characters and whatever it is they're going through. :D

Right now I'm reading Painted Faces by L.H. Cosway. 

I actually bought it because Amazon recommended it to me, and thank you for that.  

After finding out the story is about a woman, Freda, falling in love with a drag queen, Nicholas, I was sold. I absolutely love the entire aspect of creating a different persona and performing, and the fact that the main female character embraces all of that and doesn't even bat an eye to seeing the guy she's interested in strutting around in seven inch heels is awesome.

I've read about five chapters so far, and I'm really enjoying the story. I can't wait to see what's in store for Freda and Nicholas!

I just got back from London this weekend and brought some books back with me.

I picked up copies of both Easy by Tammara Webber and The Duff: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger. I actually had them as ebooks and read them on my Kindle last year, but I just absolutely loved the stories and had to get them on print!

The other two books I bought were Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder and The Selection (The Selection #1) by Kiera Cass.

I stumbled across Chasing Brooklyn a couple of times this past few months, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it. It wasn't until I read some pretty good review about it that I decided to give it a chance, so I bought the copy while as I away.

The same goes for The Selection. The cover was really pretty, but I didn't know if the story would live up to it. I know, I shouldn't judge books by their cover, but I couldn't help it. The summary also didn't really grasp my attention, but awesome reviews made me decide to give it a change. I'm actually kind of really excited about reading it now.
